Welcome. A moment-to-moment story...

Lowe's (Low)

In the last Salem Public Hearing on June 3, 2010, a gentleman by the name of David P. spoke of the risks involving clearing of the woods for Lowe's, a company which has not proven to be doing great economically.  His concern of having the trees cut with changes to the landscape for a project which could possibly fail and not complete, leaving a large area destroyed, would in the end leave Salem looking irresponsible.  David asked the Salem Planning Board "Don't look stupid... make them (Lowe's) sign a bond."

While economists have hope the Lowe's (Low) in the stock market will recover in the summer months, the past month's stock exchange for a warm weather month actually shows a decline in the stock market for the company.   With this uncertainty of the crumbled housing market, which has halted new construction and planned home improvements, slowing sales and becoming Lowe's worst enemy... does it really make sense to destroy these pristine woods, for an uncertain future?

  2. Thank you for doing this. I have lived in Lynn my whole life and have enjoyed the tranquility of this woods for the past 20 years. Only recently did I wonder when it would be gone forever - I never thought it possible that someone could not appreciate it's beauty and sheer majesty. Surely they have never set foot here on after a winter storm or on a beautiful summer day, the pave is simply magical and makes me wonder of how life used to be. It is our duty to protect this place -- so few like it remaining.
