An article by Kevin Lewis in The Boston Globe, on Nov. 14, reveals uncommon knowledge from social science studies that Wal-mart makes people fat.
Here in Spring Pond Woods, Wal-mart wants to expand to a supercenter, and Lowe's wants to build next to Wal-mart. Both stores will be clearing trees and blasting ledge. There is already a Wal-mart store in a building with other stores. The building is large enough for Wal-mart to take over and expand in... but an excuse we've heard in the Salem Public Meeting (June 3rd), as to why land cannot be conserved is because the store wishes to make the aisles wider. The aisles in Wal-mart are already wide enough.
Yes most poor people are fat, have babies out of wedlock and work low end jobs. No matter where they live. Have you looked around Lynn lately.

I look around and see schools with gardens and aquaponics, teaching the youth to eat healthier, and be environmentally conscientious.

they will. a small group of people won't. it starts with the government needed to limit the food these people can buy with their welfare cards. how many times have you seen candy and poor choices in the cart. look at the WIC program as well have you seen the horrible things on that list?
ReplyDeleteteaching kids to eat healthy is great as are community gardens.
i support these stores and am not even close to obese or unhealthy. alot of it as well has to do with the lack of physical education kids get in school as well.
kids have gotten fatter these days.
I agree with restricting junk food on wick cards. If the govt does this, then Walmart will loose business. cant let that happen
