Former Lynn city councilors filed a complaint with the Attorney General, asking to have the deal made by Camp Lion to develop the land be terminated. The Lions organization is violating the mission of the charter, to protect the environment. According to a Lions member, this is not the first time the organization has violated the charter's mission.

This is great, great news. Way to go! As I understand it, the property was purchased from the City of Salem for not much money. Now, they want to sell it for millions...and violate their mission of keeping it forever wild.
ReplyDeleteI hope this ends the corruption and leads the Lions back to being a positive and respectable organization. Sometimes organizations can get lost and blindsighted if greed takes over and if the leaders become megalomanics. I hope this will help in getting this area to be what it should: a protected open space. It seems like there are a lot of people who are willing to find out a way to do this.
I'm glad I'm not a Lions. Maybe oneday when they get their act together.
ReplyDeleteha! Seriously, which non-profit can we begin trusting? There has to be a penalty for ones that act phony.
ReplyDeleteThis gives credence to all those in opposition and hopefully dignifies them for standing up against the BIG BOX BULLIES.
ReplyDeleteIts about time someone took legal action against the Lions.
ReplyDeleteHarry Pierre, a spokesman for the Attorney General’s Office, said Monday no complaint related to Camp Lion had been received.
ReplyDeleteKEEP DREAMING!!!!!
NORMAN COLE LIES!!!
ReplyDeleteAccording to the complaint by Cole and Walsh, “Camp Lion is in the process of selling approximately 92 acres of natural woodland to Kennedy Development Group, Inc. for the purpose of constructing a Lowe’s and Super Walmart consisting of over 300,000 square feet of commercial space, and altering 19.4 acres for the project.”
ReplyDelete92 acres? they don't even own 92 acres
MORE LIES !!!! WAY TO GO NORM
Anon 3:23, 3:24, 4:20,
ReplyDeleteIs it a lie what the lions have written in their laws? Focus on that and not the rest. Obviously the complaint is on its way to the AG office, and there once used to be many acres owned by the lions which is not ravaged by development or the threat of it. The Lions used to own over a hundred acres, and now moving its way down to nothing. Save it for court.
The Lions could loose their 501c status, and affiliation to the International Lions. What happens then to the land if it is not owned by the very organization that signed the deal? All is void? Glad someone is standing up to these business bullies!
ReplyDeleteCrowley is sketchy with the comments he makes in the paper. He quit Camp Lion to save face, but remains a member of the Lynn Lions, and the two groups are one in the same. The people aren't stupid ya know.
ReplyDeleteNorm is not a liar. He speaks the truth, and it will up to the Attorney General to decide how truthful the Lions really are. Thank you Norm!!!
ReplyDeleteThe Lions should be ashamed of themselves. If you wonder how these business minded personalities end up being members of the Lions, look at the Lynn & Salem Chamber of Commerce. Follow the money. There's no perfect place than here for all the anti-environmental, anti-people to get together. Big wigs, big wallets, big wannabes. Investigate here and you might find the next scheme.
ReplyDeleteIf the Attorney General does nothing, this will set precedent for all other non-profit organizations, in that none will stay true to their laws.
Thank you Norm & Debbie for taking a stand.
I used to go to the Sportscenter on the Lynnway. Not anymore, and I've told my friends not to go. And what kind of a lawyer is Sano? Someone needs to look at his record.
ReplyDeleteThe Lions sound crafty. Violations are 'precedent'?
ReplyDeleteGood!
ReplyDeleteHeck the lions deserve to go to jail for frauding the public for money on a fake mission.
ReplyDeleteI have a complaint to file against the Lions. This whole deal is upsetting. Maybe I should file too?
ReplyDeleteYou should but you won't because you can't remain anonymous.
ReplyDeleteActually, I wish Mr. Cole and Ms. Walsh-Smith had asked others to join in on their complaint against the mis-direction of some of the board members of Camp Lion when they voted for on the side of greed, rather than good.
ReplyDeleteget in line
ReplyDeleteLet the truth continue to be told. Great work on everyone's part. Lets hope the Lions remember their original commitment, and end this deal. It is better to end it than have the Attorney General end it for you.
ReplyDeleteIf in fact Norman (The liar) Cole sent this claim to the AG you can mark my words.
ReplyDelete"There is insufficient evidence to investigate this claim"
tick, tock, tick, tock...
ReplyDeletethe Lion's time is up
Norman is a great guy. Thank you Norm & Debra for taking a stand!
ReplyDeletethe lions are liars
ReplyDeleteTalk about a non-profit org being corrupt and a bully. Wow!
ReplyDeleteI've written to the AG asking to join the complaint by sharing my concerns too!
