"It was great walking. I had a great time wandering all of the hills and vales in the area. I was having "nostalgia- rushes" along the streams like crazy. I grew up in Holliston near just such wet land areas." ~ Brian Joyce

Thank you for sharing, Brian.

  3. These hills, where once the Indian dwelt,
These plains, o’er which the red deer run,
These shores, where oft are fathers knelt,
And wild doves built, unscared by man,
I love them well - for they, to me
    Are as some pleasant memory.

  5. I am moving out of the Third Floor of the Lydia Pinkham Building next weekend. 271 Western Ave. Lynn. My "stuff" is going to my Sister's in Southern NH. I'm looking forward to doing a biking and drawing thing in Greater Boston; which is one way to deal with being a starving artist (avoid paying rent). Anyhow, I've had signs up in the building for about a week saying that anything I have is available on card stock from my Canon printer for $10. I can also arrange for
    prints that are 18 x 12 inches @ $25 and Large Posters about 3 ft x 2 ft for estimate $50.
My studio will remain in it's glory until Monday and then I start serious packing. To preview the studio and other art checkout BJoyceArt.blogspot.com

Drawing in the cold can be just about impossible. So I used photographic reference and drew at home. I was so ecstatic being out on the lake. It was kind of like skating but a lot less slippery. And I decided to take advantage of the exercise and stretching rather than the cramping of drawing. Not that using a camera doesn't haunt my professional conscience. I think the way to do cold outdoor production would be to mount a very large canvas and paint with arms and back. Drawing with frost bitten fingers is B A A A A D.

I have one more Spring Pond drawing I hope to do this week of one of the small streams.
