Welcome. A moment-to-moment story...

Potential Vernal Pool study, Part III

Finally, we found a couple Spring Peepers.  These little amphibians, make the loudest noise, and are challenging to find in the dark with flashlights.  Leslie and I also found a few salamanders and other amphibians swimming in the water.

  1. Great work Katerina and Leslie. It's wonderful that you care for much for this area and are working so hard to document all the living creatures who depend upon it.
Lions---Save their precious habitat. What you're doing with this deal to develop this area will kill and destroy living, breathing creatures. It's wonderful that you're donating money to for relief in Japan and that you do so much for people as far as eye research, but how can you pat yourselves on the back for that and then destroy a precious habitat right in our own backyard. Please, please re-think what you're doing. Help preserve this area--not destroy it.

  2. How exciting you found a salamander. I remember as a kid finding them under rocks, etc.. Now I can't find any. At least they are still thriving in some areas. I hope this area isn't destroyed or disturbed. It obviously is still home to a great many wild creatures. Creatures disappearing in our own backyards these days!
